Dr. Konstantinos Marinakos has been serving the tourism sector for a long time, both as an academic and researcher, as well as an entrepreneur and scientific consultant.
He is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Management Sciences of the University of the Aegean with the subject “development of clusters and networks in tourism” and holds a doctoral degree with the subject “applied economics in tourism”.
At the same time, he has completed postgraduate studies in “Economics and Social Sciences” (Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, University Bocconi Milano) and in “Tourism Business Administration” (Hellenic Open University), while he is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
He has participated as a speaker in several international and national conferences on economics and tourism, and his presentations have been published in well-known international journals.
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism Management of the School of Administrative, Economic and Social Sciences of the University of West Attica and a member of the S.E.P. in Postgraduate Programs of University Institutions in Greece and abroad, including the Hellenic Open University, with the main teaching subject being tourism development, tourism economy, financial administration and the spatial development of tourism.
At the same time, he is the elected President of the Peloponnese Tourist Organization (TOP), President of the Peloponnese Health Tourism Network (DITYP), Vice President of the Panhellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX), Vice President of the Regional Council for Research and Innovation of the Peloponnese Region, co-founder and scientific associate of the consulting company Professional Hotel Development (P.H.D.) and member of the Jury of the Greek Hospitality Awards and the Travel Marketing Awards.
